The idea of Birthstones have been around for thousands of years. Several gems are believed to certain powers and these powers were particularly strong in certain months. Traditionally, the Stone of good luck for the user, especially if used during the month of birth.

The modern list Birthstones has no real astrological significance. It was created in 1912 by the Jewelers of America and has been amended twice since then. The idea was to create a list of the jewels that the people we meet, as some traditional birth stones are a bit weird side.
