The U.S. interest in the cat is often said to have originated in the 20th century, since the advent of the exhibitions and the opening of cat worship by the public. This impression is not supported by facts. The cat first sample was held in Maine, between 1860 and 1870, even before the Great Exhibition in London established in 1871 by the painter of animals known, but Harrison Weier cat shows in the United States were not known outside of Maine until one was held at Madison Square Garden, New York, in 1895.
The exhibitions in England have been by Mr. Weir first program until now, so marking periods in modern history of cat can be dated to show the Crystal Palace in 1871, and the New York show in April 1895. These programs have emerged which can be described as a cult, or in some ways a industry. Numbers of people, mainly women, have taken the cat as a means of livelihood in part, the sale of those who post to show the result public. of these initiatives has been the production of different colors, and Clubs families. strains have emerged for the care and maintenance of exhibits and genealogical records and books have been initiated.

The varieties or breeds recognized in the shows are Persian, Siamese, Abyssinian and ordinary domestic shorthair cats. The Persian and Angora can be said to be the same cat, although the differences were established in the old days, but these were very indefinite. Today airspace rules and regulations for two large groups which are long-haired cats and short hair cats. These are judged by points and sorted by color distinctions. Angora is a small place, and relatively few cats could have come from there, but many come from other parts of Asia.

The colors are richer and approved the silver light, smoke, blues (or slate color) white, black, orange, cream and tortoise shells, and the tiger of different colors are also favorites.
