How do I clean silver jewelry and stone from the moon?
I have a necklace as a gift years ago. The silver pendant has a small stone in the middle. Iridescent color is very pale and I think it moonstone, but for all I know is only sea of glass or something. I have to clean the part of silver (the gem can not be separated from the silver back, so I decided to soak in salted water) and I wonder what is the best, safest method would be? I really do not need to clean the stone, just want to make sure no damage in the process of cleansing the silver c:
I never go near a gemstone with bleach. Your safest bet would be a silver cleaning cloth. To clean your silver set around the stone and will not harm the stone, whatever. You can clean the collar, so, just pull it through the fabric. Do not soak in salted water. Salt can only corrode the metal. If the stone has a solid metal stand, it is not wet at all. The water seeps behind the stone and do damage.
