Does anyone have good knowledge of symbols or mythology?
I had a weird dream about this symbol, as a pendant. It was an oval/circle shape, three silver circles inside eachother. They were linked by lines, making it look almost like a spider’s web. And in the very center was a ruby red gem. In the dream, a group of us were fighting to get to it before this other group did. It was hidden inside of an ancient book. The text was not from this time and didnt look like any kind i know. The book was golden, but the pendant was silver. I do not know what it means, but i keep having this dream and it seems important, because it is the only dream i remember from the last four months. I was wondering if anyone knows what this may be? What this book could be, or the symbol? Please let me know if you have any idea. Thanx.
Sounds like the beginnings of a great mystical fantasy novel. You should play with the idea and see where it goes.
The image is like a mandala (a meditational image that represents the spiritual world and some mystical message about it.) The circle and the point symbolize time and space. Circles or spirals also symbolize cyclical time or timeless time. The point at the center of a circle or mandalic l form also represents the “divine center” or seat of the soul. It can also represent dimensionless space (in the sense that it is the point of origination of existence). Web-like images also represent time/space as manifestation (the phenomenological world). Or it might represent the spokes of a wheel or rays of a star–in which case, the symbolism would be related to the number of rays. Circles within circles have to do with the process of expansion or emanation from the source or may have to do with symbolic things that come in 3s (the 3 states of consciousness, the 3 forms of God/Goddess, etc.).
Think about it, draw it, make it out of clay or something like that, and through working with the form you will come to know what it means.
